Mark Carney is in the process of moving the EU's MIC to Canada.

Evidentiary timeline

1. Carney proudly reiterated in his widely misinterpreted Jan 20, 2026, Davos speech that: "On Ukraine, we're a core member of the coalition of the willing and one of the largest per-capita contributors to its defence and security." He also stated in the same speech: "Our commitment to Article 5 is unwavering. So we're working with our NATO allies – including the Nordic-Baltic Eight – to further secure the alliance's northern and western flanks."

2. Carney and his "foreign minister" Anita Anand post on X almost daily reiterating Canada's "unwavering support" for Zelensky and Ukraine.

3. Carney started talking up "defence" almost a year ago to: a) free Canada from dependency on U.S. weapons by growing a domestic MIC (as if Canada is under attack, his interminable, implicitly Russophobic narrative); b) use military Keynesianism to "boost" Canada's economy; and c) sell arms to Canada's "allies" as offshore sources of revenue.

4. In March, 2026, Carney said Canada is "not considering" joining the EU despite forging steadily closer ties to the EU since he assumed office in March, 2025. He is obviously entangling Canada deeper with the EU but intends nominally to remain not a formal member.

5. Carney announced on April 30, 2026, that Canada will "host a new multilateral defence bank."

This announcement came a few days after his office replied to me personally about a proposal I naively submitted to them for a public housing-construction bank that would leverage public dollars using the Basel III minimum leverage ratio (dollars a bank holds divided by dollars a bank may loan), which is 3%, to build tens of thousands of units of social housing. I was blind-sided, floored, and outraged when I realized they had coopted my socialist idea to profit from war in general and keep their war on Russia in particular going.

Implications

If Russia is going to hit EU-NATO's MIC, they better do it before Carney and his gang of warmongering provocateurs migrate it to Canada because, obviously, launching missiles, whether conventional or nuclear, at targets in North America is extremely problematic.
